This is where my heart beats: GYCO - Global Youth Conference Academy

GYCO - Global Youth Conference Academy is an NGO based in Gulu in northern Uganda, which gives the youth in this region, uprooted by 20 years of civil war, a new perspective - I am a volunteer treasurer and consultant there.

The GYCO Art and Education Center will be a place of permanent and lasting encounter between the local, northern Ugandan art and craft sector, civil society in Gulu Province as well as businesses and entrepreneurs. The GYCO Arts and Education Center will be the place for the youth of Gulu affected by post-conflict to start a new, self-determined life with a sound technical and economic education - thus also sustainably securing peace in the region. Through intensive international and close cooperation with local businesses, politicians, NGOs active in the region and, above all, civil society, GYCO will create a youth center for experimental and interdisciplinary artists and craftspeople from a wide range of fields and disciplines.

We are highly dependent on donations - in 15.09.2022, our support association for GYCO in Uganda - "GYCO - Association for the Promotion of Ugandan Youth" - was entered in the list of organizations benefiting from donations of the Federal Ministry of Finance.
